Kenilworth Halloween Pumpkin Extravaganza & EBLEN Foundation Fundraiser 10/31/09
Most Kenilworthians know about the incredible Jack-O-Lantern display at the Daly house located at 70 Kenilworth Road. In case you don't know, Tim Daly along with his family and an army of friends intricately carve over 200 pumpkins. These are all lit on Halloween night which is on a Saturday this year. Pumpkins are everywhere within a barricaded stretch of Kenilworth Road between Forest Hill Drive and Kenilworth Drive. Lenoir Road is also barricaded at Caledonia Road. This provides a car free and safe environment for our trick or treaters.
If you have never experienced this display...please "walk" there Halloween night and experience what is truly an amazing event in Kenilworth.
The rumor is that Tim is only going to do this 3 more years...so do not miss it.
One thing that many do not know is that Tim does this as a fund raiser for the EBLEN Charities Foundation which exists to reach out to the many children, adults and families in Western North Carolina who are battling the effects of illnesses and disabilities.
Everyone affiliated with the Eblen Charities realize that life, even at its best continues to supply challenge after challenge for all of us to face. Add to that the challenge that illnesses or disabilities may cause and families may need a hand from time to time. These are challenges that these families should not have to face alone.
Whether it is assisting with medication, travel to a hospital, or providing heating assistance, the numerous programs of the Eblen Charities strives to help those families facing these obstacles breathe a little easier. At the same time, Eblen is constantly seeking out viable partnerships and alliances with companies, municipalities and other organizations to reach out in innovative social ventures to help the friends and families of our community stop hurting.
So come out Halloween night and see an amazing pumpkin display... and if you are able... please donate to an organization that is equally amazing.
